Discover Kamong

If you're ever in the bustling heart of Seoul, particularly in the lively Seocho District, you might want to swing by Kamong, a cozy, inviting diner located at Seocho-daero 42-gil, 17, 1st floor. This unassuming gem blends the charm of traditional Korean cuisine with a modern flair, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a satisfying meal in the city.

From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel the warmth of a family-run business that prides itself on offering an authentic yet approachable dining experience. The decor is simple but stylish, with wooden accents and minimalistic design elements that create a comfortable atmosphere. The menu at Kamong is a tribute to Korean home-cooked meals, offering a variety of options that will appeal to all kinds of food lovers. The dishes are inspired by traditional recipes, yet they often have a unique twist that reflects the creativity of the kitchen. From hearty stews to freshly prepared grilled meats, there’s something for everyone.

One of the standout items is their signature kimchi stew, which has been a crowd favorite since the restaurant opened. It’s made with fresh, fermented kimchi that provides just the right amount of tang, paired with tender pork and vegetables that soak up all the rich, flavorful broth. The dish is perfect for a cold day and is known for its comforting, robust taste. Another dish that consistently gets rave reviews is their bulgogi, a marinated beef dish that is grilled to perfection and served with a side of rice and pickled vegetables. The balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors makes this dish a must-try.

Kamong isn’t just about the main dishes, though. The sides are equally impressive. Their banchan (side dishes) are served fresh and offer a variety of textures and flavors to complement the main courses. The pickled radish, in particular, provides a refreshing crunch that pairs well with the richness of the meat-heavy meals. And don’t forget to try their homemade kimchi-it's some of the best you’ll find in the area.

The location of Kamong is another selling point. Nestled in the Seocho District, the diner is situated in a neighborhood that’s known for its bustling streets and vibrant atmosphere. It's just a short walk from public transportation, making it easily accessible whether you're exploring the city or you live nearby. Whether you're dining in for lunch or grabbing a quick dinner after a busy day, Kamong offers a relaxing place to unwind while enjoying a delicious meal.

For those curious about the overall experience, the reviews from both locals and tourists speak volumes about the quality of the food and service. Many people have mentioned how they feel right at home here, with some even noting that they return multiple times a week. The consistency in flavor and the friendly service create an experience that’s hard to beat. In fact, it's not uncommon for first-time visitors to become repeat customers once they’ve tasted the incredible dishes Kamong offers.

If you're visiting Seoul and find yourself in the Seocho area, Kamong should definitely be on your list. With its delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and the heartwarming feeling of enjoying a homemade meal in the middle of a busy city, it’s easy to see why this diner has become a local favorite. • Waffles are crispy on the outside yet fluffy and soft on the inside. The flavors are fun and super delicious. Drinks are also perfect. Would love to come again!

  • I went here as an EXO fan but REALLY, their food is good. The Chocolate Strawberry Waffle is exceptionally good. Hi, Mr. Rover who's there in the side table.

  • First time at this new location. Its very crowded & popular. Waffles is still as good as ever. Strawberries were so huge & not sour at all. They have staff that can take your order in English. My favourite drink is their kamongcino or the milk tea.

  • Not too much fan of waffles but with them it's an exception. Even their basic waffle was sooo good, I even ordered for take away.

  • The waffle and coffee are both delicious. Even if it was a basic waffle. The atmosphere is relaxing with some music.

  • Dragged here by someone to see EXO Kai’s sister, but the waffles and drinks here were really *chef’s kiss*. The waffles were extremely fluffy yet crispy, and the smoothies were amazing too! Very pleasant surprise!

  • Good waffles. We ordered the ice cream one; the whipped cream, ice cream, and waffle combo was really tasty. I also ordered the Earl grey milk tea which I enjoyed. Has a slight minty subflavor to it? I tried my friend's sweet potato drink which tasted like a subtle taro. My other friend's mint chocolate drink tasted like mint chocolate ice cream but liquid.
